Description

The TS400C is a DC/DC converter for charging an auxiliary battery in vehicles with smart alternators, or for protecting alternators in lithium LiFePO4 systems.
In Euro 5 and 6 engines, the ECO alternators used (controlled by the vehicle electronics) generally do not deliver a continuous, correct charging voltage even when the engine is running. Therefore, a special DC/DC converter is necessary to properly charge the auxiliary battery. In lithium LiFePO4 systems, a special DC/DC converter is required to prevent alternators from burning out.

About the Full range automotive DC/DC TS 400-25(2)

To save the vehicle’s starter battery, the TS 400 will only supply power once the engine is running. This is possible thanks to the built-in engine-run detection. Instead of this detection, the TS 400 can also be switched on via a programmable input.

The TS 400 is fully programmable via a very simple and clear PC application.
The output current (maximum 25A) has an adjustable automatic limit.
The automatic limit becomes active as soon as the temperature approaches a set maximum.
The output voltage is adjustable for all automotive situations and is independent of the input voltage due to the automatic buck/boost control. This control also ensures that the current will never exceed the set value, even if the input voltage is higher than the output voltage.

A: No, the result is that the second battery is first completely discharged and then can no longer be charged due to the low alternator voltage.
