In diesen Batterien ist das Elektrolyt in einer Glasfasermatte absorbiert, die zwischen den Platten eingeklemmt ist. In einer AGM-Batterie bewegen sich die Ladungstr\u00e4ger, Wasserstoffionen und Sulfationen, leichter zwischen den Platten als in einer GEL-Batterie. Dadurch eignet sich eine AGM-Batterie besser f\u00fcr die kurzzeitige Abgabe von sehr hohen Str\u00f6men als eine GEL-Batterie und ist somit ideal f\u00fcr Bugstrahlruder, Anlasser, schwere Wechselrichter usw.
